The countdown for Swatch Nines Surf, the third and final installment in the groundbreaking Swatch Nines event for 2024 has begun!
After subduing the snow at Swatch Nines Snow and bossing the bike park at Swatch Nines MTB, title sponsor Swatch is heading to Waco Surf, Texas from 15 to 17 October 2024 to shake up the world of surf with its most creative course yet!
The brand-new Swatch Nines event represents a triple first: It’s the first Nines surf event, the first Nines event to be held in the US and the first time a Nines course will blur the boundaries between land and water!
Known as the ultimate athletic playground and driver of progression in action sports, Swatch Nines is where some of the world’s greatest athletes come to unleash their creativity, try out new moves and break world records.
Swatch Nines Surf promises to be all that and more, thanks to its star-studded lineup and unique course, designed with inputs from Swatch Proteam athletes, surf legend Coco Ho and prodigy Noah Beschen, skateboarding virtuoso Andy Anderson and rising star Mami Tezuka.
Thanks to the cutting-edge technology at Waco Surf, one of the largest inland surfing and water sports facilities in the US, some of the world’s most innovative surfers will each be given a six-hour session to unleash their creativity on their “dream waves”. At the same time, some of the world’s top skateboarders will be showcasing their skills on a unique platform bordering the pool.
The A-list includes Swatch Proteam athlete and BMX legend Matthias Dandois, and Swatch Sports Community member, barefoot skateboarder Val LaForge. Adding to the electrifying atmosphere, Proteam athlete and skateboarding sensation Gustavo Ribeiro will be showcasing his incredible skills on the skate course, while mountain biking superstar Proteam athlete Sam Pilgrim, also known for his surf skills, will be mixing it up on the surf course.
With the sun shining and the waves pumping, Swatch Nines Surf with Swatch at the helm, promises to be three-days of pure adrenaline and camaraderie that will see athletes from different disciplines come together to share their passion and creativity in a unique course that blends surf and skate for the first time.
Like all the events before it, Swatch Nines Surf is sure to be filled with epic moves and high-energy stoke and we can’t wait to see all the action unfold on the water!
