Celebrate the 77th Locarno Film Festival with Swatch  

Founded in 1946, the Locarno Film Festival is a vibrant, multi-day event dedicated to film that takes place at the picturesque Locarno, at the foot of the Swiss Alps.


We’ve supported the festival for years and we’re proud to announce our return as main partner of the 77th edition, from August 7 to 17, 2024.

Spotlight on LOCARNO77

Continuing our longstanding tradition, we've created a special limited-edition watch inspired by the festival's colors: LOCARNO77. Made from BIOCERAMIC, this model is the first square watch in our unique lineup of festival watches and comes in special packaging inspired by the festival.


Its distinctive square dial pays homage to celluloid film, while a detail on its black strap celebrates 77 years of cinematic innovation. A leopard print on the back honors the Pardo d’oro.

A few steps from the Piazza Grande, the Swatch Studios returns after its grand debut at last year's event. There visitors can enjoy a passeggiata down a scenically styled film set complete with shop facades.

We’ve long been a crucial link between new cinema talents and the Locarno Film Festival for many years. One of the many ways we support rising stars, is through the CHF 15,000 Swatch First Feature Award, given to young filmmakers.

The Swatch Art Peace Hotel sets up at Locarno

Swatch’s love for visual arts is on full display at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel shop facade. Festival-goers can discover “Flower of Abundance,” a virtual artwork by Luo Bi, a digital artist and former Swatch Art Peace Hotel artist-in-residence.
