Swatch Nines Surf was one for the history books

We headed to Waco Surf, Texas from 14 to 17 October 2024 and shook up the world of sports, with our most creative course yet! Swatch Nines Surf 2024 represented a triple first: the first Nines surf event, the first Nines event held in the US and the first time a Nines course blurred the boundaries between land and water! It was here that the world's top surfers and skaters unleashed their creativity, serving up jaw-dropping tricks. Relive all the action and see why this event was overflowing with stoke!

Swatch Nines Surf was buzzing with excitement and stacked with surf and skate icons, among them Swatch Proteam athletes and Swatch Sports Community members.

Our most creative course yet

Thanks to the cutting-edge technology and insights from our Swatch Proteam athletes, Coco Ho, Noah Beschen, Andy Anderson and Mami Tezuka, Waco Surf, the largest inland surfing and water sports facility in the US, will become the ultimate athletic playground. Here, is where some of the world’s most innovative surfers will each be given a six-hour session to unleash their creativity on their “dream waves”. At the same time, top skaters will be tearing it up on a mind-blowing platform right in the pool!

Swatch Nines MTB: The ultimate thrill ride

An epic 2024 edition of the mountain bike event in the Austrian Alps with an innovative course design inspiring an international crew of riders.

A star-studded lineup

This year, Swatch Nines MTB brings together a diverse international crew of the world’s top mountain bike athletes. The unique lineup also includes Swatch Proteam athletes, Erik Fedko, Casey Brown and Sam Pilgrim.

A new creative playground

Designed in collaboration with some of the biggest names in MTB, the event’s courses offer the ultimate platform for landing new tricks. In 2023, a jaw-dropping eight “never seen before” tricks made fans go wild! This year's course blends slopestyle and freestyle mountain biking, promising a thrilling spectacle against the stunning backdrop of the Austrian Alps.

On 14 September, Swatch Nines will be open to the public, giving mountain bike fans the opportunity to see their favorite riders in action. The public day also coincides with the BYND The Hill Festival, a three-day event featuring all kinds of festivities, parties, DJ sets and more. Our signature Swatch Truck will be on site, adding to the electrifying atmosphere with range of activities including Swatch Proteam signing sessions.

The Swatch Truck is also where fans can get their hands on the dedicated Swatch Nines watch, as well as watches from the new Swatch PROTEAM Collection. This includes THE PILGRIM – TREAD ON IT, a BIG BOLD watch created in partnership with Proteam athlete Sam Pilgrim.

Swatch Nines Snow leaves us blown away!

And that's a wrap for Swatch Nines Snow, the most innovative snow sports spectacle of the year, which yet served up another display of awe-inspiring moments at Schilthorn. We promised an adrenaline-fueled event which we delivered and then some: Spine-tingling display of skill? Rad line-up of legendary athletes? Iconic Alpine backdrop? Check, check and check. Read on to get a glimpse of all the heart-pounding action!

Bigger course. Bigger air. Bigger show!

The iconic “Perfect Hip” is back, and it’s massive. It’s a 21-meter marvel made for some mind-bending, history-making tricks. Given the remarkable surge of women's talent in skiing and snowboarding, this will also be the first time that fearless female riders take on a hip of this height.

But the fun doesn't stop there! The Swatch Ice Sphere, a one-of-a-kind igloo Swatch store, will cater to Swatch fans. There, event goers will be able to get their hands on watches from various collections as well as event watch, SWATCH NINES 2024 which will be exclusively available on site.

World records smashed at Swatch Nines Snow

The “Perfect Hip” simply stole the show. Its towering 21 meters served as the stage for some history-making tricks, and marked the first time fearless female riders took on a hip of such height. Capturing the most global attention ever in its 16 years, Swatch Nines saw three new snow sports world records set, including one by Swatch Canada athlete Brooke D’Hondt.

Our Swatch Proteam made an all-star showing overall. On the flatland course, Matthias Dandois and Sam Pilgrim pushed the bounds of creativity – all while filming some thrilling content. Kaishu Hirano led a nighttime ride through the course, and the Swatch Proteam dad-daughter duo Xavier and Mila de la Rue gave guests a warm welcome. The Swatch Ice Sphere was a huge hit, too: dazzling watch displays and unique themed games delighted our visitors.
